The
Pacific 2010 International Maritime Conference held in Sydney in January was a
success for the equipment and component supply arm of ATSA: SeaVision
Technologies Pty Ltd www.seavision.com.au. The exhibition team
lead by Jennylee Taylor welcomed visitors to a busy stand in Hall 6. An
interactive tank display of the highly manoeuvrable mini AC-ROV caught the
attention and interest of many user groups and the larger and more powerful
Seaeye Falcon was also showcased with interest coming from a range of maritime
sources.
Greg
Combet MP, Minister for Defence Personnel, Materiel and Science was a special
guest who made a stop to talk with ATSA Director, Neil
Hodges.
Neil
explained the history of the company to Minister Combet beginning with our
extensive background in servicing Navy underwater vehicles and associated
equipment. It has been this experience that resulted in the founding of
SeaVision Technologies to bring high performance underwater equipment to new
markets.
Minister
Combet was very interested in an early preview of an Autonomous Underwater
Vehicle project currently in a proof of concept phase. Neil explained that the
project had been initiated based on market feedback resulting from many
conversations conducted at exhibitions for different underwater technology
sectors. The minister was very interested in the development and expressed an
intention to visit the ATSA facility to see the technology in action.
